Phsyique EP review


            This is a review of Punk life is shit, the EP from Physique. Physique is a Olympia Wa, based d-beat anarcho punk band currently on Iron Lung Records. For me the overall message of the album seems to be a resounding fuck everything, which I honestly can’t argue with all that much. There’s an over whelming sense of doom about their sound that I really love. A lot of people say that they’re very inspired by Discharge but that’s sorta just that heavy d-beat sound. Loud and fast, this EP is gonna leave you wanting to punch your local city council person or the nearest cop right in the face. Game is a 2:18 tasty off this EP that I really dug, not only musically, but also for calling out fascists. Can’t believe that’s a thing we have to think about in 2019.                   As the weather gets warmer I always find it harder to get creative with style. Im really into layering my outfits, but obviously thats harder to do in summer. Today I went for something pretty casual and breathable since it's starting to heat up a bit. I styled up an otherwise basic look with a simple cross body bag and baseball cap. Adding some high socks helps to give the outfit some balance.                                        This whole outfit came together because of a D.I.Y. project I was working on. I made this armband a couple weeks ago. I call it the "quick patch" since you can take it off and put it onto any outfit. I got sick of my favorite patches being stuck on only one jacket or shirt so this seemed like the next logical step. It features the anarchy "A" and the queer rights upside down triangle. As far as the outfit goes, I wanted to balance the black and white since they are such high contrasting opposites. I feel the gray shorts really helped out there. Once again, I just like knee braces.                  Todays look reminds me a bit of Rooney Mara as Lisbeth Salander in the movie The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I just love her outfits and her attitude in that movie. Nothing like a badass who knows how to get what she wants. I wanted todays look to be a bit of a Goth/Punk mix as well as be utilitarian.
